Comparison of machining efficiency of common turning and CNC turning

Processing efficiency directly affects the production period and mass production cost. The production volume of CNC turning is completely different from that of common turning. There is no absolute advantage or disadvantage, only the scene adaptability difference.

1. Characteristics of ordinary turning efficiency

Ordinary turning requires no programming, simple tool setting and debugging, and can be processed after startup. The processing efficiency of single piece, small batch and non-standard temporary parts is higher, and the tedious programming and debugging time is saved, so the flexibility is extremely strong.

However, the shortcomings are obvious: the processing efficiency of large batches is extremely low, manual operation is conducted throughout the process, the single process is time-consuming, continuous operation is impossible, the processing speed continues to decline after the operator is tired, the upper limit of production capacity is extremely low, and it is not suitable for large-scale mass production.

2. CNC turning efficiency characteristics

In the early stage of CNC turning, programming and tool setting commissioning are required. It takes a little long for a single piece of proofing, but continuous mass production can be realized after commissioning. One clamping can complete multiple complicated processes without manual repeated alignment and tool adjustment, greatly saving auxiliary processing time. Mass production efficiency is 3-5 times of ordinary turning efficiency, and the efficiency of complex special-shaped parts can be even improved by more than 10 times.

At the same time, the numerical control equipment can realize the operation of one person and multiple machines, greatly saving the labor cost, 24h stable and uninterrupted production, stable production capacity and controllable construction period, perfectly adapting to the requirements of mass production of large batches of standardized parts.
